Worth $500, Fashion Entrepreneurs of Houston (FEH) Members can apply for a small business grant. Small business grants are useful for financing a particular small business need. You may want to use your grant for purchasing products, marketing materials, website creation, and more. What does your business need?

FEH Grants are awarded at the sole discretion of FEH. Unfortunately, not everyone who applies will receive a grant.
FEH Grant Questions & Answers
Question: Who is eligible to apply?
Answer: Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be eligible for this scholarship:
Applicants must be a member in good standing
Dues must be current at the time of application and when the grant is funded.
Members who are current employees of FEH or contracted by FEH are not eligible for this grant.
Question: When is the application deadline?
Answer: Grant applications are reviewed quarterly, based on the following schedule:
Completed applications are to be received by August 31st, of the current calendar year, and will be reviewed in September, and distributed in October. FEH’s first grant will be awarded in the year 2021. Applications received after August 31st will be considered for the next year’s grant.
Question: What are the selection criteria?
Answer: Criteria used in evaluating applications and awarding grants include:
Review of identifiable business need
Detailed use of the proceeds of the grant
The potential of the grant to satisfy the identified business need
The potential impact of the grant on overall business growth and success
The FEH Grant is awarded at the sole discretion of FEH. FEH has the sole discretion to make no grant or present a higher or lower amount than requested. The FEH in its sole discretion may award less than the totals indicated to be potentially available. FEH will not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, sex, age or disability. Decisions are final and are not subject to appeal. Application feedback is not required by FEH.
Question: What are the details of the award?
Answer: One FEH Grant of $500 will be made yearly. A determination of the award will be made the month following review of completed applications (*see the review details in the ‘When is the application deadline?’ section for additional details).
Question: If I receive a FEH grant am I eligible to receive future FEH grants?
Answer: Recipients must wait three years to reapply to be considered for future grants.
Question: What are my responsibilities if I am chosen as a recipient?
Answer: The following conditions apply:
The use of funds must be consistent with the written statement of grant use.
Recipients must maintain records showing use of the money.
Funds must be utilized within one year of receiving the grant.
The funds may not be used to pay debt or rent/mortgage payments.
Recipients agree that FEH has the right to publicize name(s), business name(s), business logo, amount awarded and photographs of the recipient(s).
FEH requests that the recipient place the FEH Member Badge on the recipient's home page of their website for one year after the grant check is received.
Question: When are checks issued?
Answer: Grants will be funded before the end of the calendar year with an anticipated distribution in early October.
Question: Are funds received taxable?
Answer: Tax laws vary by county. We recommend consulting your tax advisor for more guidance.
